GMail seems ready for public registration now

Today I received a mail from the GMail Team which contains an invitation link to GMail. I subscribed to get a possible invitation last May with that address, but it turn out to be late since I already has 50 invitations left in my GMail account. Due to GMail’s recent moves, it seems likely that they are ready for public subscription now.
